5/7/2006 - The Steve Stevens Orchestra Project and The Wayne King Entertainment Network have contracted The Eddy Howard Orchestra to play a big band dance on Sunday afternoon May 7, 2006 at the old Hanover High School, now owned by the Hanover Township Park District.

The doors will open at 1:00 p.m. and the dance will begin at 2:00 p.m. running through to 6:00 p.m. This big band dance is to introduce The Wayne King Entertainment Network, which endeavors to link entertainment, the performing and visual arts in Illinois and Iowa counties from Dubuque to Davenport so events can be scheduled, packaged and marketed to Chicagoland and the world as a unified economic theme.

5/6/2006 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce encourages you to contribute to the Playground Equipment Fundraiser Golf Tournament to raise money for new playground equipment and a walking path in White Park. The event is at Storybrook Country Club on Sat., May 6th with a 3:00 p.m. shotgun start and is limited to 18 teams. 4/29/2006 - Area farmer Daniel Smith reads his poetry about the agrarian experience. Enjoy this poetic oral history of Dan Smith accentuated with music by Maurie Grafton, and depicted in photographs by Larry Backe. These three local artists collaborate with Patricia, who applies her culinary talent to bring you a delicious folk event at The Artful Lodger on Saturday, April 29, 2006 starting at 6:30 p.m. $25 admission covers your dinner (served with a glass of wine from a local vintener) and the art-full program. 4/15/2006 - The Hanover Park District is having a couple Easter events on Saturday, April 15th. Starting at 9 a.m., stop by for a bake sale to benefit the General Fund (donations of baked goods in advance appreciated). At 11 a.m. the Easter Bunny arrives to kick off the Chamber's annual egg hunt (preschool - 3rd grade).

4/6-8/2006 - Back Street Players, Hanover's own community theater troupe, present The Butler Did It at the Township Hall. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., April 6th, and at 8:00 p.m. on April 7th and 8th. Tickets are available at UnionBank or at the door.

3/16/2006 - Look What's Cooking in Hanover! The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Corned Beef & Cabbage Supper at the VFW Club in Hanover on Thursday, March 16th, from 5 - 8:00 p.m. Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Hanover and don't forget to wear your green! The proceeds from this supper will go towards new playground equipment and the walking path in Hanover's White Park.

3/15/2006 - Jo Daviess Carroll AVC requests your company at the Annual Spaghetti Supper on March 15, 2006, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Adults eat for $8, and children 12 and under for $5.

3/4/2006 - Barra, Minnesota’s premier Irish ceili band, returns on Saturday, March 4, 2006, 6 - 9:00 p.m. at the Hanover Township Hall. Barra will provide the great ceili dance music. Members of the Claddagh Dancers of Dubuque will perform. Irish food will be available for purchase. Shamrock Imports from Dubuque will have a selection of Irish gifts for sale. The price is geared for family participation—$7 for adults, $3 for children up to 15 and seniors (age 65).

2/26/2006 - The Hanover Township Park District invites you to a chili supper on Sunday, Feb. 26. Supper begins at 4:00 p.m., and The Good Timers perform at 5:00.

12/10/2005 - All are welcome to this year's Christmas party at The Artful Lodger. Tom and Maurie Grafton will be performing instrumental Christmas music on hammered dulcimers, cittern and guitars at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10th. The concert will be followed by a buffet dinner built around Norwegian and Swedish holiday fare. The cost of the event is $15 per person. Call 815-591-2365 for reservations.

11/19/2005 - The Jo Daviess All-Church Bazaar will be held Saturday, November 19th, at the Hanover Township Park District (former River Ridge Elementary School Building) from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Over 10 area churches participating, and admission is free.

Formerly a Hanover church event, this is the first year for the county-wide bazaar, which will be offering to the public:

  • Food Booth featuring turkey & stuffing sandwiches

11/12/2005 - The Hanover Township Library will "kick off" Children's Book Week with a party for pre-school children through fifth grade and their parents on Saturday, November 12, 2005, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be stories, crafts, gifts, refreshments and lots of fun.

11/9/2005 - Hanover Township Library presents Archaeological Findings of the Hanover Indian Village Dig by Phil Millhouse of the University of Illinois on November 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hanover Park District small gym. The public is invited free of charge.

10/16/2005 - St. Paul Lutheran Church is hosting its annual soup supper to benefit hurricane relief efforts. Join your friends and neighbors from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16th, in the church basement.

9/16-17/2005 - The world's only Mallardfest will be held on September 16-17, 2005, in Hanover, Illinois. This festival is a combination of an old-fashioned town picnic on the banks of the Apple River and a contemporary Oktoberfest. Hanover is the world center for mallard duck production.

8/24/2005 - On Wednesday, Aug. 24th, two back-to-back meetings of community interest are scheduled in downtown Hanover:

  • At 6:00 p.m. the Chamber of Commerce will discuss updates on Hanover Days and Donnybrook, as well as the upcoming Mallardfest.
  • At 7:00 p.m. a special session of the Village Board will be held at the Township Hall to talk about the transfer of Alliant Energy, the new water tower and town cleanup.

8/14/2005 - Enjoy Sunday afternoon "Tea and Tunes" by "Lo-Falutin," also known as Maurie Grafton and Steven Briggs, who play a broadband musical style, with even some banjo thrown in to keep the blood pumping on an August afternoon. The show is 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, August 14, at The Artful Lodger. Admission is $10. If you're over 80, it's free.

7/3/2005 - Hanover celebrates our nation's independence with Hanover Days 2005. Check the schedule and then stop by for the parade, fireworks, ice cream social, live music and much more.

6/11/2005 - Complete Donnybrook in the Park details are available at irishparty.net. Join Helping Hands for Hanover on Saturday, the 11th of June, from 10 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Department.

5/18/2005 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce will be conducting a business meeting on Wednesday, May 18th, 2005 at the VFW Club in Hanover. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Items on the agenda will include:

  • A Brief Tour of the Invensys Plant
  • Updates on the Donnybrook Festival
  • Updates on Hanover Days Activities

4/30/2005 - On Saturday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m. the Hanover Chamber of Commerce is hosting a nine-hole Golf Tournament at Storybrook Country Club to raise money for playground equipment in Speer and White Parks. It's limited to 18 teams, and the cost is $25 per golfer plus cart rental. That also gives you a ticket to a brat dinner at 6:00 p.m., and everyone is welcome to hear Tom DeWitt & Friends at 8:00 p.m. Call 815-591-2210 or 591-3512 to reserve a team.

4/17/2005 - Chuck Bregman, piano sensation, is playing the first "Tea and Tunes" event at The Artful Lodger on Sunday, April 17, 2 - 4:00 p.m. Chuck does the tunes of the great jazz pianists all the way back to Art Tatum and Jelly Roll Morton, and he thoroughly enjoys sharing it with his audiences. Admission is $13, with advance reservations suggested at 815-591-2365.

4/8-16/2005 - Back Street Players, Hanover's own community theater troupe, present Steel Magnolias with an all-female cast. The first weekend's performances are Fri., April 8th, and Sat., April 9th, and the second weekend's Fri., April 15th, and Sat., April 16th. All shows are at 7:30 at the Township Hall. Tickets are available at UnionBank or at the door.

3/26/2005 - All children in third grade and under are invited to take part in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Township Park District, sponsored by the Hanover Chamber of Commerce. The Easter Bunny arrives at 10:45 a.m., and the egg hunt starts at 11:00 sharp on Saturday, March 26th.

3/17/2005 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on Thursday March 17th at the V.F.W. Club in Hanover. The price for the dinner is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Homemade cookies, Irish coffee and grasshoppers will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from the dinner will go towards the purchase of new park equipment for White and Speer Parks. 5 - 8:00 p.m.

2/28/2005 - Stop by UnionBank to wish John McKinley a happy retirement. Refreshments served from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

2/20/2005 - Please support the St. Patrick's Day Raffle sponsored by the Hanover Township Library. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You can purchase them at the library or from any library board member. Must be 18 years old and need not be present to win. Great prizes donated by area businesses.

2/12/2005 - On February 12the at 7:00 p.m. the The Artful Lodger is presenting "Saint Valentine on the Subject of Love," a candlelit dinner with musical performances by Sheila and Maurie. Tickets are $20/person. Reserve at 815-591-2365.

2/10/2005 - All are invited to attend the Hanover Chamber of Commerce meeting on Thursday at 7:00 at the VFW Club. Guest speaker will be Louis Giokas of Savanna Depot Technologies Corporation.

12/3-4/2004 - Back Street Players present "Deck the Stage"—six short plays based on Christmas carols, holiday music and dessert theater—on Fri., Dec. 3, and Sat., Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Hall. Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased in advance at UnionBank in Hanover and Elizabeth.

11/13/2004 - Border Lord features the national instrument of Ireland, the Celtic harp. They play a refined form of Celtic music—harp, cello, bodhran and banjo in interesting and fresh arrangements of traditional tunes and songs, along with original material as well. Rick Stanley honed his song-writing in a band with Jackson Browne and presents his songs in a strong, clear, vibrant voice.

The show will start at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, at the Hanover Township Hall. You may get tickets by calling The Artful Lodger at 815-591-2365, at Hanover Antiques, or at Apple River Music in Hanover.

11/13/2004 - November 13th, from 5 - 8:00 p.m. is the date and time for the Hanover Women's Club Chili Supper. This will be their first fundraiser of the year. The menu will include (along with the chili) crackers, desserts made by the Club members, and either lemonade or coffee to drink. There is a raffle planned for the event, also. Please plan to attend and support the Women's Club. Their fundraising efforts help the community.

11/10/2004 - The final Hanover Chamber of Commerce meeting for the year is scheduled for 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 10th, at the Hanover VFW Club. The agenda will include final committee reports for our community festivals, the election of officers for 2005 and updates on other issues discussed during the year. 9/17-18/2004 - Whistling Wings Inc. is marking its 50th year in business, and the town of Hanover is celebrating with a Mallardfest event like none other. The world’s only Mallardfest will be held on September 18, 2004, in Hanover, Illinois. The parade begins on Main Street at 11:00 a.m., and the afternoon is full of activities for both adults and children.

9/18/2004 - Please join the Hanover Historical Society for the grand opening of the Hanover Historical Room, September 18th, from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the Hanover Park District (old Hanover High School in the old band room, enter through outside door behind gym). The Hanover Historical Room has everything from old Hanover Journals dating back to the 1800s, to Revonah yearbooks of yesteryear as well as the late Doc Speer's immense historical collection of local and national political artifacts. And, if you work up an appetite reading about Hanover and Jo Daviess' past, there will be doughnuts and coffee to aid you in your efforts.

6/12/2004 - Friends of the Park District, recently founded by Tommy Sheridan and Jenny Knasiak, has been working very hard to bring you Donnybrook in the Park, a fundraiser for the Park District. The event will be held in White Park, weather permitting, and features the following acts: Donnybrook, from Chicago; 3 Jerks & a Squirt, a local band; The Lads, from Dubuque; The Terrapin Ridge Ramblers, from Elizabeth; Maurie Grafton on bagpipes; Claddagh Irish Dancers from Dubuque; and Danny Sheridan, an Irish tenor. There will be rides on the Apple River Queen throughout the event and as always, there will be plenty of food, beverages and FUN!

5/21/2004 - The annual Spring Clean-up Day is Friday, May 21st, within the village limits proper. Everything must be placed at the curb by 10:00 a.m. for pickup. Each appliance requires a $10 tag, which you must purchase before the 21st from the Village Hall. Batteries, tires and construction materials will not be picked up.

5/5/2004 - River Ridge Pack 833 asks for your help with their aluminum can drive. On the last Saturday of each month, simply leave your recyclable pop and beer cans at your curb by 9:30 a.m.

4/23/2004 to 5/1/2004 - The Back Street Players present "A Couple of Odd Couples." The original version (Felix and Oscar) is Fri., April 23rd, through Sat., April 24th. The femail version is Fri., April 30th, through Sat., May 1st. All performances are at 7:30 at the Township Hall. Tickets are $6 at UnionBank or $7 at the door.

4/25/2004 - Please join your friends and neighbors at a fundraiser for Troy Miller, a long-time Hanover EMS volunteer and coordinator who is fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The events begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 25th, at the Park District. The day's activities include a bake sale, raffle, hog roast and live music from the Rick Tittle Band. Donations are also accepted at Elizabeth State Bank.

4/24/2004 - Rose Day in Hanover is Saturday, April 24th. Support the Hanover Lions Club by purchsing the flowers in advance. The roses are $15 per dozen, and delivery is free in the Hanover/Elizabeth area. You may purchase roses for yourself or a loved one from any Lions Club member or at UnionBank in Hanover or Elizabeth.

4/10/2004 - All children in third grade and under are invited to take part in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Township Park District, sponsored by the Hanover Chamber of Commerce. The Easter Bunny arrives at 11:00 a.m., and the egg hunt starts at 11:30 on Saturday, April 10th.

3/20/2004 - Hanover Park District presents the first annual Cabin Fever Day, featuring an indoor garage sale and chili cook-off. You will be able to rent a booth and bring in garage sale items. They also hope to have a "Cinderella’s Closet" for townspeople to bring in prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and other formal wear that is hanging unused in closets and re-sell them in time for prom. You can bid on items left over from the school during a silent auction.

3/17/2004 - Stop in at the Hanover Township Library to buy your tickets for the annual St. Patrick's Day Raffle.

3/6/2004 - The first major fundraiser for the Hanover Park District will be an Irish Ceili (music and family dance) at 6:00 p.m. on March 6th. This function is at the Park District (former Hanover school), sponsored by The Artful Lodger as part of their concert series. The Lodger will be selling Irish food and cheesecakes by Jana. The band is “Barra” with Ann Wiberg, caller. Admission is $7 for individuals and $15 for families.

2/14/2004 - Enjoy "Duets & Desserts" (alternatively, "Torch Your Blues" with singer Sheila Cottral), a light dinner, dessert and floor show of bluesy lovesongs rendered almost naughty by the amazing near-contralto voice and musical interpretations of Sheila, with Maurie providing instrumental accompaniment. 11/14-15/2003 - River Ridge High School presents the prime-time crime play Shropshire Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m., $5 for adults and $3 for students. The Nov. 15, performance is at 7:30 p.m., dinner theater at 6:30 p.m., $12 in advance.

11/4/2003 - Soup Day is at the Hanover United Methodist Church this year on Tuesday, November 4th, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Featuring chili and vegetable beef and chicken noodle soup. You can also purchase chicken salad, ham and beef barbecue sandwiches, salads, cakes and pies. For carryouts, please bring your own containers.

10/30/2003 - Trick-or-treat in Hanover on Thursday, October 30th, 2003, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Look for homes and businesses with porch lights on. The firemen's activities are Friday, October 31st. Have a safe and happy Hallowe'en!

10/18/2003 - The Hanover Volunteer Fire Department is cooking a pancake and sausage supper on Saturday, October 18th, from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tickets for this fundraiser are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

10/9/2003 - We will be signing people up at the Village Hall for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Oct. 9th from 9 to 11:00 a.m. (for seniors and those with disability) and Nov. 13th from 9:00 a.m. to noon (for all other eligible persons). 8/31/2003 - Classical guitarist Russel Brazzel will perform a program of Spanish and South American music in the intimate atmosphere of The Artful Lodger at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 31st, with a reception to follow. 8/24/2003 - Bring a lawnchair and a friend to a "Praise Fair" Sunday, August 24th at White Park. Games begin at 4:00 p.m., food at 5:30 p.m., and "Grace at Work," a contemporary worship team from Oregon United Methodist Church will be performing at 6:15 p.m. The event is open to the public, but you are welcome to contribute during an offering.

8/23/2003 - Brian Miller, 21, of Hanover needs your support to help him fight brain cancer. Family and friends are throwing a benefit August 23rd at the Hanover Fire Station at 5:00 p.m. Admission and the hog roast are only $10 for adults and $5 for children. A silent auction and raffle drawing begin at 6:00, with music and dancing afterwards.

7/26/2003 - John Heasly and Sunshine Lawnsdale perform guitar and vocal selections on Saturday, July 26th, 8-9:30 p.m., for the next house concert at The Artful Lodger. This event is open to the public, and admission is free.

7/21/2003 - The improvements to Route 84 for the new River Ridge School have been completed, and the highway is now open to Route 20.

7/12/2003 - Hanover Veterans Memorial 3-Person 18-Hole Golf Scramble Tournament is at Storybrook Country Club on July 12th with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The first-place team is guaranteed $300 with additional prizes for ranking players. Pre-school and kindergarten story time is every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Snacks and/or crafts afterward.

  • The Derinda Farm Antique Market is open Saturday and Sunday. It's on Derinda Rd. between Hanover and Massbach Roads; $3 per person.
  • Stop by Old Blanding Tavern for the 21st annual pork & beef roast starting at 3 p.m. It's $7 for adults and $3 for children.
  • The Artful Lodger at 500 Washington St. is having family entertainment and live music Saturday night. The evening starts at 6:30 with "Ravinia-style elegance—a catered picnic on our Victorian porches" for $12, including admission to the show. 5/3/2003 - River Ridge Middle School is performing Greecers Saturday, May 3rd, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.

5/1/2003 - The Illinois Department of Transportation is closing IL Route 84 four miles north of Hanover beginning Thursday, May 1st, to change the grade of the road and contruct turn lanes for the entrance to the new River Ridge School. Traffic detour signs are posted, and the construction is expected to be completed by August 1st.

4/28/2003 - Big Ray's Car Wash Cafe is opening for business on Monday the 28th. Adjoining the familiar Big Ray's tavern at 101 Jefferson St., the cafe features an arcade, ice cream, breakfast, pizza, and a sandwich menu.

4/13/2003 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is planning some special community events for Easter. All children in third grade and under are invited to take part in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at noon in White Park on Saturday, April 19th.

Also Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. stop by the Easter Bake Sale at the Town Hall. They're featuring cream puffs and a wide selection of Easter desserts and baked goods. Proceeds from the bake sale will go to fund Hanover community fireworks.

4/8/2003 - It's a busy, entertaining weekend at one of Hanover's newest businesses, the Artful Lodger. On Saturday, April 12th, there will be a reception to meet the Back Street Players and celebrate the closing night of their 2003 season following their performance (after 10:00 p.m.). On April 13th and 14th the Artful Lodger is hosting an inclusive Jazz and Bluegrass Mandolin Workshop with Don Stiernberg. Stiernberg and guest guitarist John Parrott will be performing acoustic jazz and bluegrass at a House Concert (open to the public) on Sunday, April 13th. 4/2/2003 - Election results are certified. In the biggest news from yesterday, the voters chose to form the Hanover Park District and support it through property taxes. The park commissioners are Darrold Kennedy, Jeanne Ohms, Kevin Sevey, John White, and Kristy Wolter.

4/4-12/2003 - Hanover's own Backstreet Players present Agatha Christie's Towards Zero. This year, the performances are on two consecutive Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. at the Township Hall. You may purchase tickets in advance at UnionBank.

3/14/2003 - Rose Day in Hanover is Saturday, April 26th. Support the Hanover Lions Club by purchsing the flowers in advance. The roses are $15 per dozen, and delivery is free in the Hanover/Elizabeth area. You may purchase roses for yourself or a loved one from any Lions Club member or at UnionBank in Hanover or Elizabeth.

2/20/2003 - Please support the St. Patrick's Day Raffle sponsored by the Hanover Township Library. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You can purchase them at the library or from any library board member. Must be 18 years old and need not be present to win. Great prizes donated by area businesses.

12/7/2002 - The Hanover Ambulance Service is putting together a Christmas tour of homes on Saturday, December 7th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 each, and you may purchase them at any of the six locations (maps available). Several of the homes are offering baked goods for sale and giving out door prizes. Proceeds to benefit the ambulance service's new equipment drive.

11/15-16/2002 - River Ridge High School presents Pom-Pom Zombies, a fun-filled, zany musical comedy in the high school gym. Purchase tickets from a senior. Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m., $5 for adults and $3 for students. Saturday, Nov. 16, performance at 7:30 p.m., dinner theater at 6:30 p.m., $12 in advance.

11/8/2002 - We will be signing people up at the Village Hall for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Friday, Nov. 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. To be eligible, you must bring the Social Security cards for anyone living in your residence, proof of income for the last 30 days, and a copy of your most recent gas and electricity bills.

10/27/2002 - Everyone is welcome at the Soup Supper at St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday evening, October 27th, from 4 to 7:00. They will be serving turkey, ham, and barbecue sandwiches, soups, desserts, and a cake walk.

09/20-21/2002 - If you like the unusual, you won't want to miss the 25th annual Mallardfest. The world's only Mallardfest will be held on September 21, 2002, in Hanover, Illinois. This festival is a combination of an old-fashioned town picnic on the banks of the Apple River and a contemporary Oktoberfest. Hanover is the world center for mallard duck production. 08/25/2002 - Join the next "Praise in the Park" on Sunday, August 25 in White Park. Food concessions start at 5:45 p.m., and the concert begins at 6:15. It will be local talent this month: Kumors will be there, Earl Guenzler and his harmonica, Kids in Christ, and more.

08/22/2002 - The public is invited to a meeting of Citizens for a Hanover Township Park District at the Hanover Village Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 22.

08/21/2002 - School resumes at River Ridge, Community Unit School District #210, for the fall semester.

08/17/2002 - Hanover V.F.W. Post 5300 is hosting its 7th annual hog roast and corn boil. This event is open to the public, starting at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2002. $7.50 per person, $3.50 for children under 12. Carry outs available.

08/10/2002 - Wild and Kennedy Thresher Show on Saturday, August 10, at the Kennedy Farm on Hanover Rd. in former Apex, IL, at noon. Pot luck starts at 4:30 p.m.

08/9,12/2002 - Register your children for school at River Ridge Elementary on August 9 or the high school on August 12.

08/5-7/2002 - Weather permitting, beginning Monday, August 5, 20002, a contractor will be in town to begin seal-coating all streets within the village limits (excluding IL-Rte. 84, Jefferson and Washington Sts.). All vehicles, trailers, and so on, must be removed from the streets and kept off until the project is completed (approx. 3 days, depending on weather). Anything not moved will be towed at the owner's expense.

Also, no yard waste or debris is to be placed or deposited in the street now or at any time during the year.

Everyone's patience and cooperation will be very much appreciated.

07/31/2002 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce and the Hanover Police Department are cosponsoring a meeting on community policing. On Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. in the V.F.W. Hall, you're welcome to meet and discuss your community's problems with chief Harold Kunz.

07/27/2002 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce and the Hanover Police Department are offering a bicycle registration program. This voluntary program will encourage safety for local riders. Come into the Police Department office at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2002.

07/21/2002 - The X-Treme Life Band from Alpine Chapel in Lake Zurich, Illinois, will be giving a free concert at White Park on Monroe St. in Hanover, Illinois, on Sunday, July 21, 2002. Concessions will be available from 5:30 p.m. with the Kids in Christ youth singing group performing at 6:15 and X-Treme starting at 6:30. Bring your lawnchair and join us for this fabulous concert in the park. This concert is a must see!!

07/03/2002 - Hanoverites past and present, and their many guests, celebrated Hanover Days on July 3rd through the 4th. The festival featured the annual parade, fireworks, canoe racing, the fireman's dance, and more. Click on the link above for pictures and winning numbers.
