Donnybrook’s fiddler plays for the crowd between bands taking the stage. After waiting out the storm, kids danced to the music to the evening hours of the Irish fest.
One of the main organizers for the Irish festival, Tom Sheridan, introduces the bands from the stage. Among many helping hands, Jennie Knasiak and Kathy Gable were also key players in the planning of the second annual Irish fest. The One Hat Band jams folk-bluegrass songs in the late afternoon.
Hanover’s Irish festival’s namesake band, Donnybrook, played for attendees under the shelter of a tent through stormy weather at the second annual fest at White Park. The fest brought in big name folk and Irish bands from throughout the region including I’m with stupid, the Wickedaddies, the Celtic Minstrels, the Terrapin Ridge Ramblers with Michelle Payne, Nappertandy and Jen Gloeckner, The Claddagh Dancers also entertained audiences between bands, and during some of the performances. Proceeds from the festival benefited Hanover Township’s volunteer fire department.
