3/22/2008 - ll children 4th grade and under can join in the Easter egg hunt at the Hanover Township Park District on Saturday, March 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. The Easter Bunny will be handing out prizes after the egg hunt. The annual bake sale fundraiser will also take place from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
3/13-17/2008 - The proceeds from two eagerly awaited annual Hanover fundraisers will be donated to the Hanover Township Library. The library plans to improve the facility and comply with the America With Disabilities Act.
The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a St. Patrick's Day dinner on Thursday, March 13th, from 5 to 8:00 p.m. at the VFW Club. The $9 adult and $5 child donation includes a traditional corned beef dinner. Irish coffee and grasshoppers are also available.
The Hanover Township Library is holding its 11th annual St. Patrick's Day raffle. $1 per ticket or six for $5. Great prizes from area businesses. Raffle drawing is March 17th at the libraryneed not be present to win.
3/12/2008 - Everyone is welcome to attend the Hanover Chamber of Commerce March meeting Wednesday, March 12th, at 7:00 p.m. at Charlie's Place. They have a full agenda, including guest speakers discussing plans to increase handicapped accessibility at the library.
3/1/2008 - Bring the whole family on down to a barn dance at the Old School Gym in the Hanover Township Park District on Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. There will be a live caller and an old-time dance band. No experience needed, no partner needed. $5.00 for folks 15 years and older. Call 815-591-2365 for more information.
2/13/2008 - The newly elected board of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce is planning an ambitious year to increase the visibility of our community and promote local businesses. Join us this Wednesday, February 13th, at 7:00 p.m. at Charlie's Place to learn how you can help lead these initiatives.
2/1/2008 - The Hanover Township Park District will be hosting a preventative health screening for the community on Friday, February 1st, located in the gymnasium at 800 Fillmore St. Appointments are necessary; call 800-324-1851.
12/20/2007 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce will be holding the year-end election meeting and holiday party this Thursday, December 20th, at the VFW at 7:00 p.m. View the agenda and the August 8th minutes online. Hors d'oeuvres by Charlie's Place.
10/1/2007 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce heartfully thanks all of the volunteers and donors who made the 30th Mallardfest another successful event. Join them on Monday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW Club to wrap up this year's and consider suggestions for next year's festival.
9/15/2007 - The world's only Mallardfest will be held on September 15, 2007, in Hanover, Illinois. This festival is a combination of an old-fashioned town picnic on the banks of the Apple River and a contemporary Oktoberfest. Hanover is the world center for mallard duck production.
8/11/2007 - Satin Jazz returns to the Artful Lodger. 8/8/2007 - The Hanover Chamber meets Wed., August 8, at 7:00 p.m. at the VFW in Hanover. Items on the agenda include a presentation from the county CVB and updates on the town festivals.

5/20/2007 - The Hanover Township Park District presents the Eddy Howard Orchestra on Sunday, May 20, 2007. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. with the dance from 2 – 6:00 p.m. Admission is $12.50 per person with all income going to the Hanover Park District. 5/12/2007 - Support the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department's annual Beef and Hog Roast Saturday May 12, 2007, from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Fire Department. Adults: $12; Children under 12: $3. Carry-outs and delivery available.
5/5/2007 - Buy it in Hanover! The All-Town Garage Sales are May 5th this year. Contact Kim Johnson to be included. This year nonresidents may set up outside the Park District for $5.

4/24/2007 - The Hanover Ambulance Board of Directors voted on April 18th to reduce the tax levy request from $0.41 to $0.11 per $100.00 of EAV. The public is welcome to view the press release and budgeted income and expenses.

3/17/2007 - Spring Craft Fair is presented by the Hanover Township Park District this year on Saturday, March 17, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $1 admission for everyone over 18 years of age. For more information or to reserve a booth, please call 815-591-3622. (Crafters: The booth rental fee is $15, tables $2, electricity $2. All registration forms must be to the Park District no later than March 7, 2007.)
1/27/2007 - Celebrate this year’s observation of the Bard’s birthday, starting at 6:30pm, Saturday, January 27, 2007, at The Artful Lodger in Hanover. Scots music, dancing, piping, eating, singing, reminiscing, and reciting, with kilts, wee drams, and sashes$30 per person, by advance reservation only, at 815-591-2365.
David Bradley will return with his pipes and his son after last year’s absence for the wee bairnie’s birth. As with past Burns Nights, the menu will feature Scots foods, including the venerable haggis, and the Salute thereto, along with other Scots comestibles a bit gentler on the modern palate.

9/16/2006 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is "extra excited about this year’s Mallardfest as we have just made some major renovations to Hanover’s White Parkthe park where Mallardfest is held every year. We have added a perimeter walking path, all new playground equipment, updated restrooms to meet ADA code and more (we’re still working on additional improvements such as landscaping, a new park sign, drinking fountain, additional building upgrades, etc.). Please stop by at this year’s Mallardfest (or anytime) to see and enjoy our new park!
