7/3-5/2010 - anover celebrates our nation's independence with Hanover Days 2010. Check the schedule and then stop by for the parade, fireworks, canoe race, live music and alumni reunion.
6/18-20/2010 - Hanover has a busy weekend in store:
Karaoke at Red Devil Tap Friday night and the Bootlegger Saturday night.
Hanover All-Town Garage Sales are Saturday, June 19, 2010. Maps are available at the Park District and local businesses.
Farmer's market Saturday from 9:00 a.m. till noon on the 200 block of Jefferson (Main) Street
Steak fry fundraiser at the VFW Club from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday the 19th. U.S.D.A. choice black angus ribeyes, baked potato, salad & roll: $15.00.
Hanover Stimulus Package (Terry Harner, Tom Dewitt, Kevin Ward and Jon Kelly) play at the Viking Inn Saturday evening.
6/13/2010 - Help our friends in need! Shelley and Alex Stevenson lost almost all their belongings in an electrical house fire. They have always been there for their friends, and now their friends would love to return the favor. Red Devil Tap, 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
5/15/2010 - Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 928 is hosting an Armed Forces Day dance at VFW Club 5300 in Hanover on May 15. The pork chop dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. and the DJ and karaoke at 7:00 p.m. Admission and dinner are $7.00 per person.
5/12/2010 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is having its quarterly meeting in conjunction with the Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce at Rocky Waters Vineyard and Winery at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy appetizers, wine and two guest speakers.
5/11/2010 - New Image Salon is hosting its first giveaway! One lucky mom will receive a haircut, color, style, manicure, and pedicure! Call or drop your nominations off at the salon. One winner will be drawn randomly on May 11th. Before-and-after pictures will be posted on Facebook! Good luck to all moms!
5/7/2010 - Mike Craver, a North Carolina native, and known for several Off-Broadway productions, will perform at Back Street Players in Hanover and Plum River Playhouse in Stockton in The Belle of the Wabash. Belle is an original musical melodrama, which was written by Mr. Craver to be a companion piece to Bosh and Moonshine, a show performed in Orangeville, Stockton and Galena in May 2009. Several local residents join Mr. Craver on stage for this delightful story.
3/20/2010 - Back Street Players in collaboration with Winneshiek Players, Freeport; Mighty Richland Players, Orangeville; and Plum River Playhouse, Stockton, will present The Cheddar Curtain. Back Street Players will sponsor the performance at the Hanover Township Hall on Saturday, March 20. Each theater company is sponsoring one venue, and the proceeds will benefit that specific theater.
3/11/2010 - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a St. Patrick's Day dinner on Thursday, March 11th, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the VFW Club. The $10 adult and $5 child donation includes a traditional corned beef dinner and entertainment. Irish coffee and grasshoppers are also available.
2/10/2010 - The Hanover Chamber will be holding its quarterly meeting Wednesday night, February 10th, at 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Club in Hanover. Agenda include discussion of a St. Patrick's Day dinner, comments regarding TECEDA and other economic issues in our area, the final approval of the Jo Daviess County East Business Directory submission.
2/9/2010 - Your attendance is greatly appreciated at a Village of Hanover public meeting at the Township Hall on Tuesday, February 9th, at 6:30 p.m. We will discuss the water tower project, sewer, electric and winterization funding. Public input will assist the Village Board in planning future projects.
1/17-18/2010 - Closeout sale at the Hanover Lumber Yard Boutique on King Day Weekend. Sunday, January 17th and Monday, January 18th, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Home decor, jewelry, organic bath products, clothing, gifts, garden and outdoor decor.
12/3-6/2009 - The Back Street Players and The Plum River Players present their first joint production: The Rented Christmas. Dessert theater tickets are $12, available at Apple River State Bank for Hanover performances and at Eccentrics for Stockton's. Show times are at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 4 at the Hanover Township Hall; at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 2:00 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Stockton Masonic Hall.
